Climate
The Climate of India is primarily tropical type with minor variations from region to region. Summers are hot and humid in plains. Hill stations are pleasant and coastal areas are not very hot but very humid. While traveling prefer light cotton cloths during summer. Keep enough water with you to keep yourself hydrated.
Winters are cold and dry in most of the places. Mornings are chilly and hill stations are very cold and witness snow falls too. Bring heavy woolen cloths during winters and avoid alcoholic drinks.
Apart from Summers & Winters rest of the time are warm and pleasant. You should wear light cloths and keep yourself hydrated.
Food
Variety of foods which are very good in taste and nutritious are available in all parts of India. Avoid taking street foods if you are from abroad. Prefer food from good restaurants and use bottled water. Non Veg foods are available but its difficult to find some kind of meats which are forbidden in some specific areas. Coastal areas are abundant with sea foods. Its advisable to eat veg foods in India which are available in abundance and also they are hygienic. Before ordering food ask for the kind of preparations they serve and tell your preference on the terms of spiciness of the food.
Roads
Roads in cities and towns are noisy and dense, be careful while crossing and walking along. Recently revolutionary transformation happened with large networks of intercity, interstate express highways have been developed and constructed which elevated the overall experience of road journey which are quick, luxurious and safe. Road networks in India is second largest in the world. Now people prefer taking roads to travel long distances with their own vehicles which are self driven. Good roads are also growing the concept of caravan style of camping and traveling. So now you can use roads for ground transportations with availability of different kind of vehicles to transport.
